IRS Form 2290 Due Dates

The due date for Form 2290 is determined by the taxable vehicle's first month of use. Each year, the tax periods usually begin on July 1 and end on June 30.
Between July 1 and August 31, file Form 2290 and pay the applicable tax for trucks initially utilized on a public highway during July.
Form 2290's first four pages must be completed. If applicable, include the last two pages.

When is IRS Form 2290 Due Date?

Every year, by August 31st, the IRS Form 2290 for Heavy Vehicle Use Taxes (HVUT) must be filed. The current heavy highway vehicle tax period runs from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.
The majority of trucking companies put their vehicles on the road by July for each tax period, With the deadline falling on the last day of the following month, i.e. August 31.
